Fresh Particulars Come to Light Concerning the Discovery of the Reiner Couple's Bodies

Recent details have emerged about the shocking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

A Alarm

According to a report citing a family associate, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the residence. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

When she went into the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Afterward, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently detained and denied bail.

Clarifications

The person close to the family challenged several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

Additionally refuted published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation includes descriptions of reportedly "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports noted the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, some 15 miles from the family home. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
