Following a pivotal victory at the Lusail Grand Prix, Max Verstappen has dramatically reduced the margin in the title race. He is now positioned just twelve points behind leader McLaren's Lando Norris and ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri, everything is in place for a thrilling three-way championship battle at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit.

"I'm looking forward to it, I'm eager to go there and have a go at it," the driver said. "I go in there with just good vibes. I try everything I can but simultaneously, even without the title, I still know that I had a fantastic season."

This outlook according to him removes much of the pressure. His focus for the last race is clear: to maximize everything possible from himself and the machine.

The shift began with significant performance updates introduced by his team at the Italian Grand Prix. Adjustments to the car's floor and front wing finally addressed ongoing balance issues, allowing the driver to regain confidence with the chassis once more.

From then on, the results has been utterly formidable, securing five wins and several top-three finishes. He was eager to praise the unified work behind this comeback.

"We have triumphed where maybe it seemed unlikely, by executing the optimal strategy as a group," he noted. "The way I work with my race engineer and the entire crew... we are deeply connected."

The Scenario for a Memorable Decider.

Ahead of the travel to Abu Dhabi, the championship picture is perfectly defined.

• The championship leader can secure his maiden world title if he outpaces both his two rivals or takes a podium finish.
• Max Verstappen needs victory and needs that Norris places fourth or lower.
