Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.
For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.
West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously Forest manager.
So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.
A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
But I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
