The Porcine Pardon: Pig Named 6-7 Spared by Miami-Dade Mayor.

It might not have been at the same level as pardoning Thanksgiving turkeys, but the county's top official conducted a Donald Trump moment this week by formally pardoning the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“This pig is innocent. She deserves this act of mercy. She has committed zero crimes,” Levine Cava said in a speech with clear references to the vast quantity of pardons issued from the start of the onset of a second term in office.

“Unless you count eating 6 or 7 apples per day,” Levine Cava continued. “May this pig enjoy a lengthy and joyful existence away from worry.”

This ceremony, which both honors and questions the local cultural practice of consuming swine during the holidays, was founded to replicate the traditional fowl clemency at the White House.

The animal, contributed by a local firefighter, was christened after the modern linguistic fad of young people exclaiming “six seven” – deriving from a hip-hop line – often without clear purpose. The phrase became so pervasive that a leading lexicon site recently declared “6-7” its top term for the year.

A New Life

Six Seven the pig is now scheduled to spend its days at a countryside refuge “away from grills and cookware”, according to the event’s official press release.

“The pig pardon has become a beloved tradition to begin the holiday season,” said the event host, in a notably cheerful message.

“It represents the spirit of Miami: joyful, diverse, and grounded in customs that foster togetherness. Each year, we are proud to celebrate culture and compassion in a way distinctively Miamian.”

Attendees enjoyed a meat-free selection of spinach croquetas and Cuban coffee as they marked Six Seven’s big moment.
