The Renowned Musician Urges Backing to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The effort hopes to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It has a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The track was produced after a large-scale benefit event held in September. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby encompasses a group of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the September show, which reportedly raised a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of producers and composers. The song showcases a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The group managing the project have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These proceeds will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was described as its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of buildings reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is first of all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
