Trump Welcomes Relatives of Attacked National Guard Personnel to the Presidential Residence

President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He noted that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Devastating Incident

Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

Presidential Call

The president explained he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the parents of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Mourners gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the administration to pause asylum processing and cease granting visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

Attorney general the attorney general told the program that she aimed to speak to his relatives.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with distinction, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had fortitude,” the governor informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
